Welcome to the first Catapult Media (Peterborough) Ltd blog post.
It is now about two weeks since we made the business a limited company and since then it has been full steam ahead on our plans for the future.
Saying that, a lot of work had gone on before we got the limited company status as we moved to expand our business following the successful launch of The Peterborough Hub in March.
Despite the fact that the first edition landed on desks a couple of days after the country went into lockdown, we were delighted with the enthusiasm with which the publication aimed at business owners was received.
It provided fuel for the fire that is mine and Sarah’s passion for print and made us even more determined to bring more publications to market.
We strongly believe that print still has a strong part to play in marketing for businesses of all sizes.
Of course we appreciate that it is only part of the equation – which is why we have also launched a digital business directory as part of The Peterborough Hub, for B2B clients to promote their businesses online, and our FindIt business directory brand for all types of B2C and B2B clients.
We are now busy behind the scenes preparing for when lockdown eases so we can move on to the next phase in our plans.
Sarah is busy negotiating business premises and talking to Peterborough Regional College about taking on our first apprentices.
I have been creating the website for our first Find It Spalding directory, as well as the framework for the PE Magazines website.
I’ve also created this website and designed all of our new brands – alongside working on the digital-only second edition of The Peterborough Hub due out in May.
My other priority at the moment is writing and formulating all the plans and documents which will form the foundation of our business.
Sounds boring, but I’m loving the opportunity to really set out the kind of business we want to create from the start and take ownership of our company culture and values.
I’ve been reading The EMyth Revisited and The EMyth Mastery books by Michael E Gerber, which I’ve found really inspirational.
They have given me some big ideas on how we can shape Catapult Media from the ground up.
Watch this space to find out how we get on…
